Term Information

Accession
GO:1990295
Name
post-anaphase microtubule array
Ontology
cellular_component
Synonyms
PAA, post-anaphase array
Alternate IDs
None
Definition
A cytoskeletal part that consists of an array of microtubules and associated molecules that forms at the end of anaphase, and in which microtubules are nucleated from an equatorial microtubule organizing center. Source: PMID:17072892, PMID:11792817, PMID:9601091
Comment
The best-characterized example is found in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. The eMTOC is cortical, but the post-anaphase array microtubules are not exclusively cortical.
